tire size?

I have a 2000 psd 4x4 that needs new tires I am currently running 265 75 16's and would like to go taller. I have been told that this could cause transmission problems. I have 76,000 mile on the truck. any info would be appreciated.

I am running 285 75 16's They are a little taller and fatter than what you have.. I like running them better than stock cause it fills the wheel well better.

I dont notice any probs with them MPG is good still

IF you want to go bigger than that... I Have no Clue!

i run 315's and i think it has messed up my shift points and i know it's thrown my mph off 5mph at 60

plus they scrub when you turn it hard

would not recommend 315's but they are new bf's that were on there when i bought the truck and i'm not spending the money now since they are new

Tire size response

I'm also running 285's, Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo's. Great tires BTW. No rubbing, no effect on gas mileage, and when it says 65 on the dash, the GPS says 67.6, so it's real close.

What gear ratio are you running?
I've got 4.10 ratios, and am running BFG 255/85R16 MT/As on my dually crew cab. A real good tread pattern. They are 33 inches tall versus 31 inches on stock. With this combination, you effectivly have changed you gearing to a 3.94 ratio. That equates to lower RPMs, and better fuel economy. The gearing isn't too high, that it effects towing, and you still get some economy benefits without changing ratios.
