Post Header Installation

I am in the process of installing headers on my '75 F250 HiBoy with a 390. I purchased Hedman headers made for the application, but they don't fit quite right. The header pipes end right where a frame crossmember is located (right above the area where the front springs mount to the frame. The crossmember is directly beneath the tranny, but is not a mounting point for the tranny.

Is it safe to relocate the crossmember or cut it a bit to make the headers fit?

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

no do not cut the crossmember! if you look it is helping support the rear spring hangers on the front axle. i would return the headers and either get the right ones or my money back.

Ditto that! Don't cut your truck for a cheap set of headers. They probably set you up with the wrong ones.
