Basic Tuneup ???

OK, I've had my expy for about six months now and I'd like to do a tune up on it before fall/winter. It has approx. 72,000 miles on it. I have no idea what the previous owner did or didn't do. What sort of things should I be looking at?

Obviously want to change Oil/filter, check air cleaner. I want to check the plugs but the whole COP/torn boot thing has me a little scared. If I do decide to check them should I just change them while I'm in there? Do I need to change the boots, and is it obvious if they're torn? What else should I look at?

MAF, IAC ? how can I tell if they're good or not?

Thanks!

Plugs should be good for 100k, but your getting pretty close. You can get new boots at the auto parts store, and put a dab of dielectric grease on there to keep moisture out. Might be a good idea to pull a plug out and check it. You can clean the MAF with some electrical cleaner, just make sure the engine is not hot. A bad IAC would give you idle problems. New PCV valve would be good too.

Check this out for spark plug change info:

Here is what I did on mine basically right after I bought it with 68K 2002 with an unknown history. I could tell by the air cleaner that it was at least taken care of somewhat:

-Plugs - wanted to check out the whole COP/thread thing - not bad, boots looked brand spaking new. Put new plugs in while I was there...
-Trans fluid flush with new filter
-Transfer case fluid change
-Front and rear diff fluid change - Note - Check axle seals for leaking BEFORE changing (I had one leaking)
-Brake Fluid
-Coolant
-Air cleaner was good
-Serpentine belt was good, but I did take if off and clean up the pulley surfaces
-Checked all lights
-Full brake job with brembo rotors, pads, and replaced one caliper
-Put a swimsuit on and sprayed the heck out of every nook and cranny underneath the vehicle, including dropping the spare, cleaning it up, and don't forget to check the air pressure
-put new wiper blade refills in
-waxed her up
-checked bearings, etc.
-had to put new brushes in the alternator!
-put a new upgraded air pump bracket in
-Flushed the power steering fluid - Note - one thing I did was remove the power steering reservoir and cleaned the heck out of it. It was dirty enough on the inside, that you could not tell what the level was at.
-Change the oil obviously
-Took out the rear carpeting, door sills, etc, and cleaned the heck out of the interior
-cleaned up battery connections
-cleaned up stuff on the front of the a/c condensor
-waxed the heck out of the wheels
-checked out the exhaust - fine
-cleaned up and detailed the engine compartment
-checked sway bar end links front and rear
-checked for coolant leaks on hoses - hoses looked fine (knock on wood)
-had a beer

Hmm... did I miss anything?

Spray the Bottom?

What did you spray the bottom with? Just cleaning or did you use some rust inhibitor or something?

What I did was first use my pressure washer to do a general all over on the bottom to get rid of some sand and dirt that it would get. Upon close inspection, I noticed a bunch of stuff on top of the frame, and other components that the pressure washer would not hit. So, I took the garden hose with the sprayer, a small brush and mostly my hand and went to town.

It was a hot day, so I did not mind the water, but I did get really dirty.

After letting it dry, I noticed some rust on the frame area around the spare tire area. Hit that with spary Extend - rust converter
