SL Formula Shell and Castrol at Target

I recently got some of the Shell 10W-40 SL oil at Target.

It seems that some prefer the older SL oil because of the zinc content.

I have used Shell oil in the past and it seemed to do fine.

I usually use Super Tech but the Shell should do as well if not better.

The oil choices at Target is quite slim.

The Castrol SL was I think 10W-30.

while i like most shell products i won't use their normal formula shell oil it is weak and has a poor base stock. the supertech is actually better than it as st now has moly and a more stable base oil.

I dont know, this may actually be the new SM formula.

I think the oil companies started bottling the SM before they were allowed to show the SM on the bottles.

If this is what was done, the botlle would still have the SL on it even though it may be SM.
