Looking for some suggestions on replacing buckets with a bench seat in a newly acquired 1966 SWB, F100. What years would fit this vehicle without having to make any modifications? It has a floor stick but I'm considering putting an automatic (will also be floor mounted)
and'
suggestions on where to go look for one, other than the junk yard?
thanks,

Any seat will work it just depends on what you want to do to make it fit. My brother put a split bench in his 65. The seat came out of a 78 ford T-Bird I believe. He had to drill some new holes but it fit and it looks good.
Most newer (1970s and 1980s) Ford truck seats will fit nicely if you use the 1966 bench seat brackets under them. The only thing you'd need to be careful of is that they don't require any more room behind the seat if you still have the cab mounted fuel tank.
I put a seat out of my 80 F150 and it fit fine. The seat's not centered exactly in the cab, but it sure beats the heck out of the buckets that were held in with the seatbelt (not my handiwork).
The floor pans are the same from 65 to 79 so for sure, those brackets are a direct fit. Seats on those brackets will work to 96, not sure beyond. I use the seat from the 76 donor that I bought, but the seat is a little wider and if your truck has arm rests you will have to open the passenger door to tilt the back forward. You will also have to cut the end off the latch to keep it off the gas tank.
Put a 86 contoured split seat (fold down) arm rest in 65 f100. Went to salvage yard and looked for year(s) donor truck with same seat tracs as the 65, and with the wider bench. Found going to wider bench allows more options in selecting seat. Majority of later model back sections will all mount to the wider seats. Found an 86 contoured seat with the fold down arm rest and mounted the back section to a 68 bench. Then took the contoured bottom section of the 86 seat and put the springs, contoured material in a 68 bottom section of seat. Basically lazy and did not want to deal with modifying the seat tracs. Found if you have the wider bench and both arm rest should remove 1 that way wont have issue with gaining access to tank. Found reasonable uphostery shop and very pleased with outcome. Probably sound more complicated than it really was.
