Need Alternator Help
I have to replace a bracket that bolts to the front of the engine head on my 72 F100 (302 V8), and to which the alternator bolts. I've been unable to find a used replacement, but I have found someting from LMC Trucks that might fit the bill. However, it doesn't look the same. I hoping someone can reassure me that this is what I need before I buy (see image at http://www.jasek.net/images/altbracket.jpg). I called the sales number, but they seem to just be telephone operators and were unable to provide me with any useful information. Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated.

If you are talking about the cast iron bracket that bolts to the front of the cylinder head and also has the dipstick tab bolted to it, then that is not the bracket you need. The bracket in the illustration that you provided is the one that bolts to the front of the water pump and alternator. I guess a junk yard (scuse me) recycling yard would have the bracket you need. If your talking about the bracket on the front of the alt. that the adjustment is on. I got one at the parts store that was chrome and had a arc in it and cut it off with my chop saw as it was to long and then redrilled it to fit
