4x4 conversion

i talked to a few people about converting my 1979 f250 SuperCab 4x2 and they said it could be done. a few questions asked were, is the tail shaft longer on a 4x2, if so can it be unbolted and replaced with a shorter one for a transfer case? that was the main problem. if it cant be changed then do i have to put in a tranny from a 4x4 or can the longer tailshaft be used? my plan is to buy a regular cab 4x4 and put it all into my 4x2 supercab. if all goes how it should the only problem will be the driveshaft. also since my 79 is an f250, will it need any heavy duty stuff?

4x4 conversion

rather than go through all that work of putting the 4x4 parts into your 4x2 why don't you just switch the frames with A 4x4. It would be a lot cheaper and easier.
