I have an '06 F250, the owners manual indicates that there is a drain lever on the Horizontal Fuel Conditioning Module (HFCM). This is utiltized to drain water from the fuel system when the sensor reaches (water in fuel) .2 pints of water.
The problem is my '06 does not have a drain valve? I noticed my manual is dated March '05 first printing. Did they change this in '06?
Any other '06 owners have the same? If this is the case, how do you drain water from the fuel system?
The manual that came with my '05 F-350 also refers to a HFCM with a lever-operated drain. Lo and behold, I have the same setup that the '03-'04 trucks have, with the screw-out plug.
All you need is a 6mm hex wrench and something to catch the draining fuel/water.
The instructions in the tech folder will likely shed some light. Here is the link:

I took a 1 quart plastic milk jug and cut off the bottom. Hold it up under the HFCM to catch the fuel and water. Take a couple of paper towels with you under the truck on a creeper. Let the plug fall into the milk jug. I pour the water and fuel that comes out into a 1 gallon milk jug that can be collected on trash day recycling. Did mine yesterday, and did not get a drop on the driveway or on me.
