I seen somethin that made me sick the other day, i seen a 78/79 ford in a fourwheeler magazine and he replaced the rearend, a 9", w/ a gm 10 bolt. Why would he do that? Ford makes the best rearends, y would he replace the 9" w/ a 10 bolt? (shudder)

I thought about this a minute or two, tring to find some sane reason someone would do this. I couldn't. The guy is just plain dumb thats all.

Replacing a 9 in. with a 10 bolt makes no sense. Replacing a 9 in. with a 14 bolt...now that's a little different story...

1970f2504x4! Why do you believe installing "GM" parts in a Ford crazy? Parts is parts. It starts with ore, a smelter, hammering, machining and after that's all done, brand labeling. Chances are scrap iron from all manner of automobiles was used to manufacture the steel used to build your Ford. So what's the BFD? I like using Ford parts on my Ford simply because they fit and work really well. But....this weekend I am installing a 80 amp GM one wire alternator, simply because it fits and works better than the obsolete Ford alternator and regulator I will remove. I like Michelin tires and Monroe shocks and Eaton springs. All of these companies make GM and Ford parts. Do you have an after market steering wheel, seats, wheels, wipers? How about your sound system, is it all Ford? Broaden your horizons man! It is a big wonderful and diverse world out there, much of it driven by GM.

Do they make Anti Rejection drugs for stuff like that? I mean wouldn't a Ford of any year, just absolutely reject any GM part that came near it?

I know my two trucks would! That's just sickening, the guy that did that needs to be Drummed out of the Ford Brotherhood!

And be exiled into the land of chevy morondom.

not trying to start nothing but i ownford/chevy.i thought hotrod meant to use or make what you can.maybe this guy couldnot afford a rear and he already had the chevy parts just to keep him cruizn.hell i would do it.i go to a chevy board with 2500 members we talk about our fords and chevy nobody puts nobody down for what he/she rides or does to there rides.but everytime i go in a ford board i see this.imight like what i got and you not but hey its what i want.just my 2cents.like i said not trying to start something

fair enuff, white lightning.the only problem is, they can't joke about chevy over ford because the concept is ludacris!

any how, i seen a sticker on a '37 ford coupe "it's a ford, but listen for the heartbeat!" when he went to start it, he threw a rod... hmmm... an omen perhaps?
