Vacuum Modulator
I Have A 85 F250 6.9 Diesel W/c6 Tranny.i Would Like To Know What The Different Color Stripes Mean On The Vacuum Modulator.the Parts House Lists A Green,purple,and Black Stripe.do The Colors Indicate Different Rpm Shift Patterns?any Help Would Be Great.thank You.

on my diesel c6...
if it's accelerating slowly, it shifts at 2000rpm, only drops like 3-400rpms
if your really rocking it'll shift as high as 2,600rpms
i mean... it's vacuum controlled, so your foot controls the shift points to some extent
you can also adjust the shift points somewhat on the valve which resides on the driverside of the injection pump.
