DII TFI compatibility

I am simplifying my newly purchased Truck that was a 84' CA. emmisions carbureted TFI. I have a MSD 6A and got a used large diameter distributor to replace the TFI one, but I haven't sprung for a new coil. Can I use the TFI coil with the essentially DII setup I am converting to?

The MSD box will be driving the coil, so if they say the MSD will drive the TFI coil ok, then you should be alright.

MSD has a very good website with all their literature and diagrams on there. I seem to remember there were two or three ways to hook up a Ford system. You will have to do some studying to figure out which one you need to use.

It seems one of the systems(TFI?), the MSD box used the signal from the original coil wire to drive the MSD box. Then the MSD box drove the coil. I think I am remembering this correctly because the TFI dist has no provisions for timing advance, vacuum or centrifugal.

Look through the diagrams and see if the MSD box can be driven directly from the DSII dist. I am not sure if it can or not. If it can't be driven directly, you will need to get a DSII module and hook it all up, and then the DSII module will drive the MSD box.

I just can't remember how it went exactly, but their site has all the info.
