AOD TV cable adjustment?

HI, this is my first post so be kind. I have a 93 4x4 302 w/aod transmission. My transmission seems to work smooth on up-shifts, shifts early from 2-3 (22-23 mph unless I apply more pressure to the pedal) shifts into od at 45 mph not as smooth as the lower gears. When decelerating I occasionally get a clunk from OD to 3rd. Also When I move the shift lever from park to drive my engine rpm's increase. I don't have a tach but the increase is enough to cause an abrupt engagement into drive. Do I have a TV cable misadjustment? Thanks

nah, I think the extra clunk you're feeling is just the lockup doing it's thing. the extra rpm's I'm not as sure on, but the extra clunk is probably jsut the torque converter locking up, and the hard shifts to third are shifting with it still locked, or it unlocking and shifting at the same time. Could be wrong, but that's my vote.

Generally you want upshifts to happen at 12mph and 20 mph for 1-2 and 2-3. As for the clunk, make sure that your bands are properly adjusted. TV cable adjustment would alter your delayed upshifts under hard acceleration.
