Anyone here have an SCT tuner? I saw them yesterday on Trucks! and they were using it on a 2003 PSD. Says it works on both the gas and diesel motors with the same tuner. I was hoping to get some opinions on them.
Right now I have the 5.4L in my 250, but I am on the lookout for a 250 with a PSD that I can afford, and I don't want to have to buy a second tuner.
Yes indeed, you will need two different tuners for the two engines. I have the SCMT on my 03' V10 and it is the best mod I ever did. You can really feel the power and the Tranny shifts are much more crisp and sharp. The MPG increase with a tuner is a NON-ISSUE. To get the increase you have to use it in the 91-93 octane setting. While increasing MPG it will do, you will lose and savings on the increased price per gallon.
Actually I think they mean the same tuner (physical box) but different tunes. The SCT is not an off the shelf programer, all tunes are custom built from a set of templates. I don't know anyone with one in a gasser SuperDuty, but they are the cat's meow in the 6.0's and Mustangs. I beleive the website is www.SCTFlash.com .
Oh and BTW... Yes I do have one on my 6.0 and it is great. You probably want to check with Innovative Diesel as they do a lot of 6.0's and would be familiar with the SuperDuty and they also do a lot of Mustangs.
