When I purchased my new '05 Explorer I was immediately disapponted it did not have, as standard equipment, Drivinmg lights. In Memphis, were drivers are honestly and truely NUTS..OK crazy, I want all the visibility I can get to avoid being hit.
I heard Ford has an add on module/unit that installs under the hood which turns on the headlights at 75% of power when you start the truck.
Can any one give me any information about what the Ford part number is and how to install it?
I'd consider an OEM/3rd party light kit only if it is made to turn on automatically at start up.
Make sure the kit has DIY instructions before you order it; DRL's are standard equipment in Canada, so it can't be too tough to install (hopefully Plug-N-Play?).
Was that dealer quote on top of the price of the kit? Ask the service manager why the install cost is so high; maybe he'll even tell you.
Yeah, The dealer price was on top of the kit! Service Mgr said, Labor is 2.5 hrs at $95, plus taxes, shop supplies , etc., screw you stuff! The part comes form FORD with no DYI instructions.
