hi guys i have 1950 f1 i changed to neg ground (8volt) this weekend i put
patricks instructions on work bench reversed ampmeter wires ,reversed coil wires and battery started fine but discharges when rev it up no problem right?
wrong reversed wires on gage still shows discharge when you rev it up lights get brighter it still shows discharge any ideas????? thanks richard jobe

What kind of ammeter gage do you have? The stock ones for you year, I believe, had the charge wire wrapped around an iron core on the back of the gage. I think you have to make sure you wrap the wire around the opposite way - not just reverse the coil on the iron core. Could be wrong on this one as I've never actually take one from your year apart.
