Fuel Mileage
05 excursion 6.0 EB 8000 miles , Took my x on a 1200 mile trip , was getting 16 plus before trip ,hauled empty trailer 2500 lbs mileage did not change . Loaded a 68 Caddy on the trailer 5000 lbs, got 15.2 on the way back. My question is , it has been over 3 weeks and the overhead display is only reading 15.4 but I did the math and am actually getting 16 . Any suggestions. Thanks CHAPFR

The computer is averaging your mileage from all of your trips and driving habits. If you reset it, you will get a more accurate reading. Mine does the same when I tow my 33 foot travel trailer.

Get it to the screen with the mileage displayed and then press and hold both buttons at the same time. That will reset it. It will be very volitale for the first 100 miles or so and then even out to what it believes you are getting.
Never trust it completely though, I have run my truck out of fuel and the trip computer said I still had 50 miles to go. I didn't take into account that I was pulling a loaded trailer and my average was based on no trailer at all...
