ok new motor is in and im back on the road..only now with a mass of wiring issues... first off the tach is either pinned or jumping around... the 12v meter jumps and the lights dim with the speed of the engine?
major concern since its a new engine... when the key is in the run position, should i be able to see what the engine temp is? because i cant. its only when the motor is running that i can. and its staying in the hot/danger area. and its buggin me.
You may have forgotten some grounding straps after you put the engine back in. If you can't find them, run a ground from a clean place on the new engine to the firewall. You may want to run one also from the engine to the sheetmetal near the regulator.
The engine is mounted in rubber, and the battery ground goes to the engine block. So you need something from the engine to the sheetmetal to give it a ground.
