Transmission Noise

This problem just started recently and it has to do with my M5OD (300I6). When I let off the gas, it grinds really loud. All I have to do is push the clutch or give it gas and it stops. It seems as long as I have the gas pushed somewhat, it doesn't do it, but when I let off, after a minute or immediately, it starts that grinding. It does it in all gears. Is this my throw-out bearing or is it internally in the tranny? I appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Benji

It could be a pilot bearing or input bearing, too. It's pretty tough to diagnose without hearing. If I were you, I'd either drop the tranny and inspect, or take it to a shop and have them do the same.

Thank you for the reply. I'm going to first check the tranny fluid. Where is the pilot bearing or input bearing? Is that right in with the clutch and stuff? I need to check it over. I don't get much time with school and all.

The pilot bearing fits into the end of the crankshaft where the input shaft slides in place. The input bearing is inside the transmission.
