i just go a set of dynomax longtubes for my 93 f-250 with a 351. as far as the exhaust i bought the hooker 2 1/4 header back system with hooker aero chamber mufflers, summit h-pipe, and summit rolled edge 4 inch outlet tips. has anyone here ran this type of setup? what should i expect it to sound like with 2 1/4 pipe? i got the smaller tubing for a little more bottom end power. its all mandrel bent too.
Should sound good and make plenty of torque. IMO, put the H-pipe no further than about 1-1.5' from the headers. An improperly placed H or Y pipe will be worse than no balance pipe at all.
are you installing this yourself? if you are, let me know how it goes as i'm interested in the same setup pretty much. although i'm thinking of hooker long tube headers or maybe even hedman long tubes. does the 2 1/4 hooker header back exhaust bolt right up?
Hey, tell me how you're set up goes, and how it sounds and performs. I want the same thing only with bassani headers. Thinkin abuot hedman elites since the bassani's are so dang expensive.
well saturday night i started puttin all this stuff on. i got the headers on, and tried my exhaust. didn't fit. the headers i got where gave to me from a friend who didn't need them any more. they must have been for a older 2 wheel drive or something cause the collecters are about 5-6 inches from the tranny crossmember. so now i'm ridin around with open headers and an o2 sensor reading off one cylinder bank. btw, the exhaust kit will fit with hooker supercomp headers, thats what it said on the box anyways so i'm gonna order a set this weekend. if the hookers are any shorter say 5-6 inches then the rest of the exhaust will go on easy. i'll let you guys know how this all plays out.

i don't know if i'll have that much room behind the headers to put the h-pipe in but we'll see.

yeah i'm doing the install myself. the exhaust will bolt up with the right set of headers.

One thing you can try is spray some cheap paint on the pipes after the headers. The point where the paint no longer burns off from the heat is a good place for the H pipe. That might be further back to fit.
i got my hooker competitions on but i had to push the drivers side over to clear the front driveshaft and the differential. i'm going today to an exhaust shop to get my pipes put on. the header back system still didn't even want to fit so i'm gonna take it and have it rebent to fit.
well i just got back from the exhaust shop and i'm really happy with the sound. it has a real nice throaty, aggressive sound to it with not popping when you let off the gas. its pretty quite too inside the cab. if i had to do it over again i wouldn't have bought the header back system as bad as it was off. i can tell a big difference in power too.
