I was given a carburetor that looks like an edelbrock from another very generous user. (Thanks again, Calvin. ) I have rebuilt a 2bbl Holley before, but have had no experience with Edelbrock. Is there a place to look on the carburetor to know which model it is so I know which rebuild kit to get and is this a difficult carb to rebuild. I don't think so, as everything I've seen says they are more simple. Any insight would be very helpful. I looked on the Edelbrock site and they have no tech info.
The 9637 is a 625 cfm carb designed for a Ford application(it should have the Ford AT kickdown linkage). They are an excellent carb with a lot of tuneability.
Thank you. It does have the kickdown lever and I went ahead and rebuilt it yesterday. It will be a little while before I can get it mounted as I need an intake for the 4bbl. Are the metering jets all the same size for the primary and secondary. I got them out last night and didn't mark them. All the numbers look the same, but I didnt look under magnification. Which jets should be used for my stock 360 and which metering rods are recommended. Should I get a tuning kit for it with various options, or will it run fine as it is?
