steel interior door pull cups?

was wondering if anyone knows what years the interior door pull cups (the ones in the armrest) were made of steel. the plastic ones suck.

The ones in my 75 E100 are metal, i'm not sure if they are original or not.

My 82 E100 has it's original metal pulls. So does my husband's 83 E150.
A friend of ours has a couple of late 70s Ford vans and both have metal pulls
