6.0 programmer question
Hello:
I have an 04 6.0 and have a ran a preditor on 65hp for almost a year and never had any problems except some questionable shifting. I've been reading some posts about the new sct tuners and how well they shift so I bought one. I've had two different companys tune the sct and they both done the same thing. It made the truck very loud, bucking when kicking cruse off, much higher egt's, and not as much low end power as the prediator. But the shifting was better, and started better. Have any of you guys seen these problems, can they be fixed, and which chip is safest for my truck sct or prediator.Thanks

I apologize for not answering your question but I was under the impression that many owners bought tuners to "get away" from Ford's tuning problems. Apparently no tune is perfect? It sounds as though that is what you are seeking.

Just curious who did your tuning? I have used a couple of tuners for my SCT. I personally think you are better off with the SCT but that is my opinion. I too have noticed the bucking while kicking off of cruise but that is just in one tune. I will check some of my others.

I really hate to name any names of the people that done the tuning, but I believe they were the first two in the business. All of my tunes buck when the cruise kicks off, they said that was part of it, but the noise is a killer. I love they sound of a diesel but that is too much. I will say if speed and power is what your looking for sct will do it. I'm looking for modest power to pull heavy loads. And ford doctor, I really don't have any complaints about fords tuning, just need more power. Thanks for all that wrote in. If anyone else has any other suggestion please write in. Thanks
