I have a 1994 F-250 Turbo Diesel 243k+ miles. I had the truck sitting over the weekend. I went to go to work and pulled out and gave it gas and pulled up to a stop sign. When i applied the brakes they were rock solid and i went right through the stop sign. I coaxed it to my house and immediately bled the brakes. it did nothing. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about the thought of the abs sensor or abs computer. I'm not that mechanically inclinded but I'm willing to try anything. I need this truck for work.
Check the brake booster, it sounds like you may have lost your vacuum, which will make the pedal effort pretty hard. It could be the vacuum pump, whether as simple as the belt come off, or the pump failed.
Just did vacuum test at booster it was a constant 10.. then did it at the pump and that was 10 . I'm guessing my pump is gone. I have been noticing a slight drop in brake pressure past few months but its been ever so slightly. Does this low pressure affect my shifting too because I have noticed the shifting has become harder and at higher rpms?
