8.8 with discs?
Did any 8.8 come with factory discs for the 150?
Thanks,
Mike

Yes they did, brakes and LS both had discs, on the breaks I do not know what year they started but 2001 and up had them.

I believe the spring perches are in different locations. If you can weld/grind, that shouldn't be a problem.
You will need to carry two spare tires and run two different style wheels - the bolt pattern will be different between the front and rear.
You would also need to take out the booster, master cylinder and proportioning valve from the newer truck and put it in the older truck.
Then - I'm not sure the ABS connectors are compatible. My guess is that you will lose your ABS.
What you want to do is get a rear disc conversion kit from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard. You won't run into these issues.

I will get back with you tomorrow. I have a 2001 out in the barn. I'll go out and do some measuring on both and get back with you.

NO
King Bolt hole to king bolt hole over the center, approximately = 2001 47" - 1994 44 1/2"
Flange to flange = 2001 61 1/2" - 1994 60 1/2"
Sorry.

I believe you'd have to find one from a 4x2 though. I think all of the 4x4's got the 9.75. Could be mistaken though.

My answer is no. The disc brakes came on the 97- 9.75" F150, LD F250 and Expeditions. The 8.8 came in the 87-88 Turbo Thunderbirds, 94- Mustangs and 95- Explorers with disc. The other problem that was stated is the the bolt patterns are different from 96 to the 97 year. The 97 and up LD trucks have a metric bolt pattern. You can get a rear disc setup from a 9" or 8.8" diff and add it to your 8.8 then you need a proportioning valve and a correct brake master cylinder.

The 4.6 F-150's all have 8.8's 4WD or 2WD. 5.4 trucks have the 9.75. I think its still that way to this day. Go to a dealership, find a 4x4 truck with a 4.6 and look at the rear axle. Chances are its an 8.8.
