How's it going? I'm going to make this short. My A/C isn't working and I'm eventually gonna take it to Midas or something. Apparently I have a leak in the rear evaporator core. Now I was cleaning my KN air filter and while I was waiting for it to dry, I was looking around, and found THIS. It's leaking some sort of green liquid. What is THIS and why might it be leaking? "A/C" is written on the hose coming from it so I thought I'd post here. Thanks.

yes that is your high pressure a/c line, anyways that green liquid that is comming out is dye. it put in A/C lines to find leaks. you said your a/c isnt working that is probably why. if by not working you mean not blowing cold. as far as the evaporator core I dont know, but I would fix that line first. You know it is leaking. gl

I see, thanks. Yes the air no longer blows cold. I had it taken to a shop and apparently they added the dye to check for leaks and then recharged the system. I didn't go back after the refrigerant had run out again because it seemed that they were trying to rip me off. That's why I'm going to just take it to Midas or Meineke. Now how would I fix this leak from the hose? I'm going to check it more closely tomorrow during the day. Would I just replace it?

you will have to change the hose out. I dont know how long it is or how hard it would be without seeing it, but I would change the whole thing with it being a high pressure line in all. depending on how much experience you have I would change the hose myself, and then take it somewere to have them do a system evac (to make sure no moisture is left in the line) and recharge. Right. So is Meineke any good then? This is the first time I'm gonna bring my truck in for something, I'm usually able to do it myself or get help from others. It's just that A/C systems is a whole new thing to me.
