Electrical problem?

I have a 93 F 150, 302.
It's dead again, no lights, nothing. A month ago, it died and the negative cable was bad, so I changed it. Battery tested good. That same day, the ignition coil went out, so I replaced it, and no problems until today.

I checked the battery and the negative cable was loose, but the screw was all but eaten away. I know just enough about cars to get myself in trouble, so should I just get a new battery or does this indicate a different problem?

Thanks

The cable was eaten away because the connector was not tight to battery post, it was arcing. Make sure the new one is tight and put a little Vaseline on both battery post, this will melt and run into the cracks of the post and keep it from getting all of that white stuff on them.

The ignition coil I would wonder about, how do you know it was bad, they are very reliable unless somebody bypasses the resistor going to the coil and ran it that way.

By the way, is it dead now?
