Talking Reverse Sensor disconnection?

How in the heck can I kill this thing. I put 350,000 miles on my 1997 model and never backed into anything. Now this stupid buzzer goes off ever time I back out of my garage, backup up with my tailgate down to hook to a trailer, and when I am hooked to a trailer, which is very often. I have looked in the fuse panel, but it must be listed under a secret code. Any help would be appreciated.

Actually, I know someone will come after me telling how safe it is and I should just hit the button, BUT I don't want tooooo!

Thanks

I had the dealer reprogram the system on my 2004 so that if I turned the switch of when the truck is started it remains off until the truck is shut off again. The 2005 are programed this way wfrom the factory I think, works great for me.

On my '01 SC, the module and speaker for the system are located on the pass side rear corner inside the cab. If you go to my gallery, I added a shop manual diagram that might be handy for you.

Good luck,

Austin

Don't you have a button on the dash to turn it off? Mine does.

Like I stated earlier, I do have the button, but I don't want to have to push it every time I back up. It is pretty annoying.

What did they charge you for this 5 minute job? Mine wanted 75 bucks, I told them it wasn't that big a problem. I can't believe that. Plug into the dianostic port, push a few buttons and that is it. What a rip off.

The dealer did not charge me to reprogram as the truck was in for a warrenty injector replacement and I Buy quite a few trucks from them.
