What kind of tool should I use for the seat bolts on a 2002 Expedition? They appear to be Torx. The largest Torx bit I have is a T-50 and it's definitely too small. Do I need a T-60? Or is it something else?
My local AutoZone has a set of plastic Torx bits that customers can carry out to their car and test-fit to see what size is needed before making a purchase.
NAPA to the rescue. I visited one NAPA store, in the smallish town where I work. They had sockets with Torx T-50 and T-60 bits hanging on hooks on the wall with a blank spot between them. I knew that T-50 was too small already and the T-60 was too big. The counter guy had a key ring with those plastic test bits you mentioned. T-55 seemed to fit, but they were out of stock.
So, I stopped at a NAPA store in Indianapolis. Bingo! They had a T-55 bit in a 3/8" drive socket. Price $6.99 plus tax. Fits great. Now I can tighten the seat bolts that had worked loose.
