Hi all - I'm glad to find this forum. I'm just curious about auto locking hubs for an F250 Diesel. I've seen that some trucks have them but my 2000 crew cab does not. Are they hard to install? Are they available? Are they problematic?

I paid $230 w/tax in California. I installed them myself they are very very simple install. The only thing that holds the auto hubs in is that metal ring, squeeze it together pull out ring and then pull out auto hub. The Warn hubs are pre greased just slip them in and put on the six or so screws and thats it.Good Luck

If your truck has the "Shift on the Fly" lever on the dash your truck had them when it was new. Somebody pulled them off. If you have the manual transfer case then your setup is stock and adding the automatic (vacuum switched) hubs would be more hassle than it was worth. The only place to get them is the dealer and you know what that means concerning the price
Which leaves you aftermarket hubs, including the Warns. A better choice is the Milemarkers, model 449SS. Made of ductile iron and stainless, they are the strongest available and thanks to a number of factors, cheaper than the Warns.
