I need help!

Guys I'm wanting to buy me a new engine+ for my 78 F150 a 302 from napa and I have some questions for a little help. I got a great deal on a dual plane edelbrock performer rpm intake. I was wanting to add this and a performer rpm camshaft in it. First is this cam too big for everyday driving. Second If I go with this setup how big of an edelbrock should I use I know stock you shouldn't go bigger than 600 cfm. Can I go to a 750 cfm or is the 600 suffice for the job at hand. Also all help in this forum is greatly appreciated by everyone.
Thanks
Keith

First off, I would rebuild the engine you have if possible, or get a good original core from a salvage yard. I have seen too many "store" rebuilds come with mismatched rods and other questionable (read cheap as possible) parts. Plus with a rebuild you can put whatever cam you want in. It will probably violate the warranty if you install another cam in a store rebuild.

A Performer RPM setup is not the optimum setup for street use in a truck. The regular Performer 302 is a better choice. A 600 cfm carb will get better street response and mileage than the 750. The 600 cfm carb should be more than adequate on a 302.
