Guys i know this has beat to death. But i have a 2005 F350 with trailer tow mirrors. And the turn signal lens on the pass side is cracked.(Backing in garage) Does anyone have a step by step guide to removing the turn signal lens. "If it can be removed"
Thanks
I read this same question posted on another site last night. Here is the answer a fellow provided, it should help you out:
"Pop the cover off of the back of the mirror (there's 4 tabs that you must release behind the mirror glass. Push the mirror all the way down, peek in behind with a flashlight and use a long skinny screwdriver to release the tabs) Once the cover is out of the way you can unplug the light and remove it."

The lens for the turn signals doesn't actually come off. The instructions Ryan posted are correct (after busting 5 of these things, I've become quite the expert.) But doing that will remove the entire back half of the mirror housing, including the turn signals. That whole back with turn signals is the part that you will have to buy. They usually run me about $85 at the dealership.
Yep, with the 20% body shop discount, it's a $74. and change part. There is 2 different models for the 05. If your production date is 11/04 or earlier, you use the $74 piece, if the prod. date is 12/04 and later, not sure of the cost, but it is harder to find.....
