Beer Water?

For a short time after Hurricane Katrina, when the power was still out here, my mom and step dad remained in a shelter. Due to health reasons, they were advised not to leave till their home had electricity restored. Anyway, while they were there, they were given a six pack of these:

It appears as if Anheuser Busch was canning water in their unlabled beer cans to give as donations. Isnt that great? They had a whole six pack and drank 5 of them but I couldnt find any cans. I asked if I could have the last can and they gave it to me. I plan on saving it, but my question is: Do you think that being that they used their unlabled cans to put the water in, is it possible that the water in those cans was originally intended to make Busweiser with? And before anyone gets the wrong idea, the reason they were advised to stay is that my step father is a heart patient and couldnt be left in the daytime heat and my mom is on dialysis and her unit here was closed and she needed to be transported to another city to get it done.

I'd like to have one of those. Make a good conversation piece on the shelf. To bad they didn't write Katrina Relief on it.

Anheuser Busch has been doing that for many, many years. They use the same treated and filtered water that goes in the beer, and same canning equipment, Had a HVAC contract job at Busch and the guys a Busch tried every beer on me to see if there was one I liked. Including something called Elephant Beer. As a joke, when I left, they gave me a quarter pallet of that water.

The water that big breweries use throughout the world is treated and filtered to be some of the purest you can find. No different than Coke selling Dasani.. same thing.
Cool memento!

Miller brewing in Albany, Ga. also has sent water in the same manner, on many occasions.

I wonder if they have any alki's who break open a can and scream "What the heck? This beer is really watered down!?!!" That's pretty neat. I think if they printed anything specific to the hurricane you'd see people hording them as collectibles instead them getting to people who need them. Betcha money you'll find a few of those on ebay soon.

Wink

I'm pretty sure that's just a can of Bud Light. They just print a different label on it.

The shelf life is 1 year after the date printed on the bottom of the can which the date on the bottom of this one is Sept. 2, 2005, so I guess it would expire Sept. 2, 2006. As far as the taste goes I havent tasted it, this was the only one left, and I wanted to save it.

All my novelty beers cans I have collected throughout the years, I hated to see the contents go to waste so I would open the bottom of the can and drink them but the can still looked untouched.

Plus a buddy of my after a few to many tried to drink one from my self 2yrs + man did it make him hurl.

Mind you only have a can of water.
Cheers
