A_G, hopefully this experience endes up being a positive influence on you. You are going to find that regardless of race or beliefs, people are people. Some are absolutely the best in every manner, some are just average folks and some aren't worth the bullet it would take to get rid of them. They are called people. They come in all sorts of colors, sizes, etc. Make a friend, might be a life long friendship. And if you are a redneck as you claim, we rednecks always give the other person the benefit of any doubt.

My familys part of north La. is being overrun by evacuees. The crime committed by them is outragous. Many homes are being robbed & my old neighbors are scared to help any strangers.I know most of the people evacuated by this storm are good people but a few are ruining every place they go. Its sad to see my home state look so bad. The Al & Miss evacuees aren't acting this way

I can tell you that it only takes 10% of a mass of people to ruin it for the very good hearted 90% that are gracious to recieve help. Personally, I would not open my doors to a complete stranger no matter what their race. I have to consider that statistically, there is a chance that I would be housing one of the looters that reeked havic on New Orleans. On another note, drug abuse is everywhere but in predominantly poor towns it is worse, which in turn drives the crime rate up. Again, statistically there is a good chance that one of the evacuees or refugees that come to my house looking for help will be a drug addict that hasn't had a fix in over a week because his supply line was interrupted by mother nature. I would imagine that he or she wouldn't much care about screwing my family over to get that fix. God Bless the people that are willing to take that chance. I hope it turns out good for them. I see the writing on the wall and I gaurantee that among all the success stories there will be a few stories of rape, murder, and robbery with the victims being people who were just trying to help. I think my donations are plenty.

That percentage of people that represent the underbelly of society and give places like New Orleans a bad name don't suddenly humble and become good people due to a hand out. Those people are used to being victims in their own mind and regardless if you are racist or not, they don't particularly like white people. Sorry, if this sounds grim, but it is my honest opinion.

I feel the same A_G.

Not to knock the people from AL, MS or LS, but had a crimnal running from the law come through my back property. Apparently he was in too much of a hurry to read. When the law found him, he was wrapped in an electric barb wire fence that pulsed.

The pulse was set on minimum just to keep my golden retrievers in the yard. The law could not get him for the pulse. They had to get me to come down and release him. On the way, I found out the he had broken into a house and raped an 80 year old woman. 80 years old, can you believe that.

When I got there, I had the emote in my hand. I turn it off long enough to ask him if he enjoyed that piece. When he made a smart comment to me, I hit the pulse at maximum about 10 times in a row. The maximum pulse will stop a bull. The cops laughed their butts off. Needless to say, he did not have a smart mouth after that. Actually, he could not talk. All he did was sit there and twitch.

The cops did remind me of one thing before they left. It never happened.

I heard from our local EMA director, that NO was the poorest, worst educated metropolis in the US. So it stands to reason, that many of these people that are commiting these crimes simply don't know any better than to loot/rob from people. Its what they know.

If you where never taught or socialized to behave in acceptable manners, how can we expect them to?

We have some local FF's that are down there, and they are circulating a story. They went to rescue a couple of families holed-up in a two flat. They wouldn't come out, because they were absolutely positive that the looters were coming to steal what little they had. Then the rich folks were going to come and steal their house.

Now this is after the mayor wanted to order forceable evacuations.

The great people in Cajun Country are buying guns up like you wouldn't....well, maybe you can believe with all the evacuees flooding in. Some shops are selling as many guns since the evacuations as they sell in a whole year.

A lot of rumors are popping up in the Houston Chronicle. A lot of call-ins to the newspaper that the PD says are not true. Hopefully, that is the case. Of course, much luck to those who are lending out space in their homes. With the entitlement rush right now, and other legalities, you may not be able to toss someone out when he/she/they don't want to leave. Ooopsie! There are already 6 people in the 4 bedroom house that I live in, so anymore was out of the question, really.

93%plus of Hancock County in Mississippi is white and well behaved, evidently. Orleans parish is about 67% black and you get the idea. It was a great place to tour, but a horrible place to live. (I knew a guy when I worked offshore who was a roustabout on a drilling rig--his name is Sammy and I hope his folks made it out of the way in NOLA. He could only shake his head when I asked how it is living in NOLA...) The whites made hey over to the north shore. The north shore did not ever get close to leading in murders in any one year, IIRC. I just call it as I see it, though.

"It never happened."

Your secret is safe with me, too, pmasley. Heheheheh...besides, I heard this morning that NOLA is 40 miles closer to the GofM now. The mouth of the Delta *was* 75 miles from NOLA, oooh. Most of St. Bernard parish will have to be bulldozed, too.
