Air Gap Manifold
Is an air gap manifold worth the extra bucks compared to a regular dual plane? I'm getting rid of the open plenum manifold I have now. I went to an automatic trans (c6) and need the low end torque and power. I am running a 302 with an Edelbrock 600 on an old torker manifold with an rv cam and 3.50 gears. Looking at a Professional Products "Cross-Wind" or Typhoon.

I see you live in California, so if it doesn't get too cold, you probably could run the air gap with no problems. If you decided to run it where it gets cold, especially in cold damp weather, I would not buy an air gap manifold. The engine would not run well and take a long time to warm up with this manifold in colder climates.
The factory and regular style dual plane manifolds have an exhaust heat passage that runs through the intake manifold, to warm it up and make the engine run better when it's cold.
