I've recently inherited a 1993 Ranger that is in pretty good shape. Before me the truck was used in South Carolina (flat land) and is now used in Atlanta (very hilly country). The truck runs fine but I'm having one problem - I live on a pretty large hill and while I back down the driveway I can feel the transmission slip out of reverse. Once I reach the bottom I can rev a little or just wait 2-3 seconds and it will re-engage. I notice no slippage while driving normally. I've also had it slip out of drive while waiting on a hill for traffic to clear.
I've checked the tranny fluid and it appears to be full and clear with no odor.
I would appreciate any thoughts.
