Not really. I think the 78,79 are the ones with the square lights, but the body style is the same from 73-79. Don't forget the F series truck is the best selling vehicle in the world (I personally think this is for a good reason).

Sorry !, 1978 was a transition year for the head lights.
early 78' received the round lights and late 78' received the square lights.
You could buy both trucks with the options mentioned.

Your truck has the XLT package, which included the square headlights and additional trim. '78 models w/ square headlights are XLTs; all '79 models have square headlights.
