Another e4og ??
I have a 92' SWB 4x4 F-150 302 (soon to be 351) e4od. I just lost 2nd gear for no real reason. like now it's here, and now it seems gone forever.
Had the trans rebuilt about 8 yrs ago at a shop, & have no idea weather it was upgraded or not. Knew nothing about e4od's then, and had just bought the truck. (with the trans non-functional)
My plan is to possibly rebuild it myself, or replace it with a factory rebuilt.
My ??'s are
Will a trans out of a F-250 4x4 go in as a direct bolt in ?
I plan on running a carbed 351W (about 350 ish HP) in place of the 302 and am using a stand alone computer from Baumanator to control the trans.
I've read that if rebuilt to use 3/4 ton trans parts since there a little stronger.
I ordered a shop manual just for e4od's and was told that it would be do-able, (it should be here tomorrow or next.) and didn't need a lot of special tools.
I would like to beef it a little since I plan on pulling a trailer ocassionally, and playing on the sand dunes also.
Any and all comments, suggestions, and or help, will be appreciated.
