460 odd mileage!
hi
when i took apart my 460 to be sent in to bored and crank groung and all of that stuff it was quiet odd that there was no ridge on the top of the cylinder but there was scratches on the mains and on the rods. but the lower end was clean, no gunk witch is commonly found on most old motors. There the origanl bearings because it says 78 on the main bearings, one indication there HAS BEEN WORK DONE A MOTOR! it has either 145,000 or 245,000 miles on it. what do you guys think of this weird wear.

460 odd mileage!
I have seen many 70's engines with 150K on the clock without a ridge of any consequence, just some varnish. Measure the bore size at several spots to find any wear and detect any machine work.
