Does anyone know how to press out or remove the steel bushings from inside the sway bar end links on a 2002 F-350? The existing bushings at two of the ends are a bit larger than the mounting bolt shaft and they slap back and forth as the suspension flexes. I will be replacing the end grommets as part of the maintenance. Also, advice for reinstalling the bushings would obviously help too. Thanks for the help.

The bushings in the end links are not replaceable. You just buy the whole link, bushings and all. It's not too expensive, so don't worry about that! You should replace the bushings that hold the sway bar to the axle while you are at it.
I just got some poly bushings for the front and rear sway bars on my 03 F350. I pulled one of the endlinks only to find the stock bushings impossible to remove (with simple shop tools). I'm betting they have to be pressed out. Can anyone confirm this?
There was a TSB that replaced the bushings on the front sway bar with new spherical bushings. If you buy new ones be sure and ask about that. They are far better than the ones they replaced. I had my 99 done about 3-4 years ago.
If you were to replace them with poly bushings the easy way to remove the old ones would be with heat from a cutting torch. (obviously off the vehicle). It would just burn the rubber out.
i have ONE good stock endlink for the stock suspension. when i put my lift on, i used longer links, and i found that the right one had a bad bushing, the source of my clunk sound. you are free to have the good endlink if you so desire.
Appreciate the offer, but I want to go polyurethane. I've heard it helps out with reducing sway - I'm putting a camper on the back. My last truck was a bit sketchy in that department, so I'm trying to upgrade my newer truck, before I put the camper on it.
I just did new end-link bushings the other day. I had to crank the **** out of them on a 10-ton press to get the metal-lined bushings to pop out. It was NOT easy and would never happen simply by banging on them or using a clamp. A hydraulic press seems to be the only way I could see them coming out. The new Energy Suspension bushings pressed in very easily. The clunk is gone...
