My 351 Cleveland 2V starts, runs for 5-10 seconds. During this time it progressively stutters more and more. Then, it backfires and stalls. Here's a little history on the motor. It has been completely rebuilt about a year ago. It only has about 300 miles on it since rubuild. I replaced pretty much everything internal on the motor(crank, bearings, rod's, pistons, lifters, pushrods, cam, rings...etc.) The only things I didn't replace are rockers, valves and springs, but I had the heads rebuilt with a 3 angle valve grind. I had the car running well and I just got back from an hour and a half drive. No problems, overheating, etc. A couple days later, I took it out again later, and about 10 minutes in to the drive it started to sputter, but not bad enough that I couldn't make it home. Every time I've messed with anything it seems to get worse. The weird part is it always starts right up. I've tried adjusting initial static timing, with no results. I've searched for vaccuum leakes and replaced gaskets. I've even replaced the carb completely. I'm now running an edelbrock 650 with an edelbrock performer intake manifold. The distributor is still stock. It's got a single point/condensor set up. If anyone has any ideas on what to do next, help would be appreciated. Thanks.

sounds like fuel restriction to me, check your fuel lines from the tank to the pump, the rubber lines could have gotten soft with age, and either collapsing or have a part of the rubber that is coming aprt and closing like a flapper valve. also if those are good check the tank out for junk floating up against the pickup, and plugging it off.
