Arrow Marker lamp Upfitter switch

I would like to use my upfitter switch to wire a normally closed relay in line with the power from the light switch to the parking lamps, can anyone offer advice as to what wire to use, and do you know if it will still work with the autolamp system?

Thanks,
Bone

thanks Tim, i looked there first but there are no specifics on what im trying to do, found nothing with a search either. basically i wanna rig up an upfitter to momentarily disconect the power to the marker lamps, to say 'thank you' after someone signals you back into a lane of traffic while pulling the trailer, the semi has a momentary switch just for this perpose. all i really need to know is does the dash mounted light switch send power strait to the lights or is it merely a relay line to a module somewhere, and is the auto lamp controller in the dash as well so i can keep that function. so any schematic of the headlight system with autolamp would be great, i can handle the rest, and if i can get the info i need i would type up instructions with pictures, just in case anyone else is interested.

Thanks,
Bone

Thanks bone

Yea i understand that, i want to use that power to open a normally closed relay in the marker lamp circuit off the light switch so i can flash the marker lamps (bith truck and trailer) whithout turning off my headlamps. any truck driver (tractor, trailer) here will understand why i want this.

Does anybody have a superduty wireing guid/schematic?

Thanks,
Bone

If any ford techs or anyone else who happens to have a schematic, that would be enough info. I can take care of the rest.

I understand why you want it to work. I thought you wanted to break the flow while they were on.

i do, im going to use the 12 v from the switch to energize a N.C. relay (thus opening the circuit) so switch on = lights off, switch off = lights on, o the auto lamp still functions with the upfitter switch off.

Check this out: http://www.letstalksnow.com/forums/s...ighlight=blink

A guy came up with a circuit using 3 relays so that ONE momentary switch will blink the lights on if they're off, and off if they're on.

Bone and Tim, you guys are very welcome.

I believe that design exactly as he does it controls ALL the parking lamps, so they will all blink when you hit the switch. Well when I get mine, I plan to be putting an LED strip between the tailgate and bumper in place of the ID bar (it's a dually), and I'll use this circuit, except I plan to only use it on the LED strip that's going in.
