tranny problem???
hi i have a 95 f 150 straight 6. 4x4. i am having a problem with my truck. one day i was driving it and the speedo srarted to move around and twitch and when i am comming to a stop in drive the truck slows down.. stops and stalls... or when i am in park and put it in drive it goes in fine and sits for a second and than like 15 seconds later it shuts off.....and the tranny fluid is at the right level...if some one could please help me i would greatly appreciate it

i have seen this symptom before but it was a while back.the speedo get the signal from the vehicle speed sensor. sometimes it can get a false sigal at the speedo thinking its going to fast,like a speed limiter, and shuts the fuel off causing a stall.if you can find a shop that can read pid's (peramiter identification) have them check the vehicle speed sensor pid ,it could be showing 120 mph,when this happens the vehicle will shut off.its either going to be the vss sensor or the progamable spedometer that is causing this problem.i would have it checked so you dont go throwing money at it. good luck and let us know what you find.

ya it was doin it all last night and it i came to a stop in drive it wouold shut off so i would have to put it in nutral so it wouold stay running ........while i was driving last night i accidently pressed the over drive button and turned over dirve off.....and now the truck is fine...like nothing ever happened ..... is the truck not supposto be driven in over drive ?
