Auto Lock Hubs Vacuum
Hey Guys,
Had A Little Problem With Vacuum Lines Or Something While Four Wheeling In The Sand This Weekend At The Beach.
Here Is What Happened.......driving Up And Down The Beach Going In And Out Of 2h And 4h. I Would Switch It In 4h When Ever I Would Get In Loose Sand, Pass Through It And When The Sand Was Hard Again, I Would Switch Back To 2h. I Probably Did This A Total Of About Ten Times.
Well, One Time When I Switched To 4h , The Air Conditionoing Air Would Quit Blowing Out Of The Panel Vents And Then Start Blowing Out Of The Defrost Vents.....if I Would Switch It Back To 2h, The A/c Air Would Then Redirect And Blow Again From The Panel Vents And Vica Versa. It Did Stop Doing This After A While As I Continued To Test For This A Few More Times When I Got Back To The Rv Park We Were Staying At. It Did Do It One More Time But Did Not Do This Today.
Anyway, I Have Heard Before That This Is A Vacuum Leak To Or At The Auto Locking Hubs Or Some Kind Of Valve That Needs Changing Or Something. I Realise That The A/c Air Switching To The Defrost Vents Is A Saftey Feature In The Event Of A Vacuum Leak But I Do Not Know Where To Check Or What Needs Replacing.
Can Anybody Or Does Somebody Know Hat To Do.

Did A Search In The Forums And Think I Found What I Needed To Know. I Think I Have A Hub That My Leak Sometimes. Everything Else Seems To Be In Order. Plus I Think I Was Switching In And Out Too Much And It Was Very Hot At The Beach And The Sand Was Very Hot Too. I Think Next Time I Go To The Beach, If I Plan To Use Th 4x4 , I Should Put It In And Leave It.
It Has Not Had This Vacuum Loss Since The Beach Episode.
Anyway, I'm Not Going To Do Any Thing About It For Now Or At Least Not Untill The Auto Locking Hubs Start Failing ( By Leaking Vacuum ) On A Regular Basis.
