won't start when warm
I have a 1988 Ranger 2.9 that starts great when cold, but won't start after running for even 2 or 3 minutes. All sensors relating to that were changed, no progress. Then the entire engine was changed (1987 2.9) and still the exact same problem. I'm not sure, but I think the old fuel pressure regulator may have been used, and was replaced before with a Bosch. I just discovered the fuel tank tube connecting the regulator and hose is cracked and when the vacuum hose is removed the idle is much better. The fuel lines have those spring lock couplers and plastic barbed tubing that are impossible. The regulator is a fairly expensive part, and I want to make sure before I spend even more. Would someone please help?
