Do any of you have pics of a plow on your 80-86 ford? also, If i plan to put a H.D. plow on the front end of my f150 what can i do to beef up the suspension?
First off, a f-150 isnt really designed for a plow. all that extra weight will leave you in need of some helper springs, which JCW has, plus varios other places. if you want to know what a plow mount looks like, look at my truck, and you will see. Depending on the plow, it might be too heavy for your truck to handle anyway, give us some details on what you have.
I am really surprised and happy with the way my f150 handles this plow. Last winter was the first time I used it. I too was ready to do something to the front suspension to make it be able to handle the load, but after I tried it, I am certain I do not need to to anything. You can see from the pictures it doesn't sag that much. For certain you know the plow is on there when you are traveling down the road, but it handles fine. It's a 7.5 foot Meyers.
