PCS? whats wrong with me?
What to know what you guys think,
I wiped my dirt bike out just over a month ago, rung my head pretty good. Gave myself a concussion. About a week or two after i seemed fine, back to normal. Now, for about a week Ive found my jaw is really sore, like i need to clench on something and on both sides of my head right behind the ears area i get a brief sharp pain and feels tense. Also been real moody at work and stuff. One minute im not happy, depressed kinda, next minute im happy.
I dont like it. I think ill go see a doc this week.
I would make sure you check in with a doctor if you are feeling anything is wrong. You should stay off the bike and take it easy, try to get lots of rest and eat well.
You are probably sleeping alot already, that is another sign of a concussion.
Get to Doc sooner rather than later, insist on an MRI of your head to rule this out.
Meanwhile, go buy a new helmet, throw the old one away or hang it on the wall, and wear the new helmet all the time till you are cleared.
And 85 you just shot my nerves there partner,
I took a tylenol, i feel much better now, but nonetheless.
Thanks for your suggestions everyone.
Oh yeah, about the helmet, Its only got about a 2-3 inch wide scrape on the back, other than that its in pretty good shape.
It may have internal damage in the foam.
Throw the frigen thing in the garbage.
It's no good.
Tylenol only hides the problem.
If not the above, put me as your benificiary; only if you've got a ot of money and real estate.
If you are intent of keeping the helmet, show the helmet to a bicycle shop or the dcotor for an opinion.

Some people recommend a helmet should be trashed even if it is dropped from a couple feet down to the roadway. However, It is hard to trash a 300.00 dollar helmet.
Always secure the helmet to the bike if the helmet is not being used, if the helmet falls off the seat or bars, that will reduce its protection.
I personally leave my DOT helmets laying on the ground, when not being used.
Bell used to rebuild helmets with new styro and liners, but I don't think anyone does that anymore.
No one can overstate the seriousness of your condition at this time from this distance.
Good luck.

The pain you are experiencing is called 'Braincramps'. It is caused by NOT going to the doctor, and trying to be a Macho, Macho Man.
Get to the doctor! Not sometime this week. Do it, today!!!!!
On another note, were you wearing a helmet when you got the concussion?
I did not know it was possible to get a concussion when wearing a helmet because of all the cushioning?
I was in Mexico riding without a helmet and flipped my four wheeler (doing about 40-50mph). I learned my lesson the hard way. Helmets are a valuable resource and thankfully you were wearing yours. When I flipped, I hit the ground face first, had a seizure and was out cold for about 10 minutes. My dad loaded me up and we drove 4 hours back home (I lived in AZ) and went to the emergency room for a cat scan. Their bajillion dollar machine said I was fine (thank god) but I beg to differ. My short term memory has been shot ever since.
Like others have said, do yourself a favor and get checked out as soon as possible. Waiting on it can only do more damage if you did jumble up your marbles.
