I got a great deal on a topper and it came with a bed/couch that is easily removable from the bed . Do you think I should paint my topper? It is in my gallery
I really like the carpet/bench kit. I'd definitely paint the topper too. It looks much better when it matches the truck, at least that's what I thought after I painted mine.
I had to remove the back window and install a boot. My ol lady says I turned my truck into a SUV I told her to watch that mouth girl
I have been wondering about scratching the topper at the upper side where you can see ,black shows scratches so easy especialy up there
Has anyone had that problem (yanno with tree limbs rubbing)?
I had a red cap on my white truck and it looks much better painted white. As for the scratches you can get stainless steel tape (very thin stainless adhesive on one side) at most discount or auto parts stores and put protectors in the vulnerable areas. If you are careful cutting them out they look pretty good. I saw a Peterbuilt semi several years ago that had stainless panels on most all the exposed curved surfaces that would get hit by rocks or tree limbs and it looked good.

Black definitely shows anything and everything. My gf's exploder is black and it takes me just as long, if not longer, to wash it as it does my truck. Anyways, the only problem I ever had with mine was the topper moving on me. I took it camping in the woods in AZ and decided to do some wheeling in the rain (there's a pic in my gallery) and the topper slid forward and rubbed a couple spots on the cab. I did smack some tree branches with the topper but it didn't scratch too much. I had the guy that painted it put a couple extra coats of clear on it for me just for that reason. And if you do get some surface scratches, you can always try waxing/buffing them out. Deeper gouges will obviously require more attention, but that's why we have these trucks anyways, to use and abuse!
well I decided not to paint it I have been looking at several black super duty trucks with toppers and decided all black, the truck looks to plain, if it were any other color I would definately paint it thank s for ya'll replying
I am rebuilding an 02 SD and I found a topper that was to big for a dodge. Does anyone know if a topper for a chexy / dodge will fit a ford? He said it was 1/2 inch wide on both sides on a 97 dodge short bed. I have an 02 sd short box. Any help would be very ccol
