water blisters
iam gettting water blisters in the area i have repaird. i had some minor rust on the rear fender of my 96 bronco. i cut out all the old rust and filled the holes using fiber glass cloth and resin.i then painted the area with dupli color paint and primer. i cleaned well but still get bubbles. do i need to etch the area ? some is bare metal.

Polyester resin (which is what is typically sold in parts stores) will, in fact, absorb water. Epoxy resin absorbs less water, and vinylester resin absorbs the least. That being said, whichever resin you use, make sure you seal it front and back or the moisture it picks up will re-rot the metal it is on.
