Well I didn't want to steal Aaron's thunder but...
He and I were the only ones that showed up. With my wife, and his friend, it made a total of Four people, and only two trucks.
We had a good chat, and ate some really good food. but it really sucked that we were the only ones there! All I know is I was a little upset that no one else showed. If we knew that we were the only two, we would have met in Yuba City or some place neutral for the two of us. And at today's gas prices, it did get me a little upset.
I can't speak for anyone elses feelings but... It could have been so much better, if people would have SHOWED!

Sorry couldnt get there was installing higher gears in the 65 and just didn't finish in time to shower and get up there.
I don't know how many have older trucks but maybe the next meet can be at Vintage Ford in Sacremento. They have a burger place inside and you can buy all kinds of Ford memoriblia.

81-F-150-Explorer, sorry it didn't go so well. I let you guys know in advance that I wouldn't be able to make it due to reasons beyond my control. I dodged one obligation and got slammed with another on the day I was planning on leaving. Manditory Overtime!!!!!
I wish I could have worked it out. It is a long distance for me no matter where the meet over on the Western Slopes of the Sierras, but I sure was hoping to make it regardless. I think a Norcal Chapter of Ford Truck owners will be a cool "club".
Hopefully it will work out better next time. Don't give up yet!

You picked the wrong location for me, plus I want something else to do along with the dinner. Swap meet, truck show, drag race, anything. Vintage Ford sounds good.
Somebody complained that going to the swap meet I suggested would have been a 4 hour drive for them - guess they forgot the place they picked was a 4 hour drive for me. It would have been after 2 AM before I got home - late for an old man.
Also, I checked with the two people I talk to the most on the other forums, and neither one even knew we had a chapter, much less that we were going to have a meet. One lives in Redding, the other San Jose. I guess I should have asked them to join before now.
The 48 to 60 forum has a Saturday night chat every week - been going on for a year. Perhaps we could start with something like that, get to know each other and our projects before we plan anything major.
Other chapters are active - they even meet at each others shops and sit around drinking beer and telling lies. SoCal chapter meets at about every truck show there is in Southern Cal - even I have been thinking about meeting up with some of them and looking over their projects.
My suggestion, hold a mid day tailgate party at some function and give everyone a 2 or 3 hour time slot to arrive. And don't worry about picking the geological center, but pick someplace where most of the active members want to go.

WillyB, that sounds good to me. I'm afraid that some may have become disapointed after the last meet not meeting. I think you are correct, that an event of some sort, with common interest of members, might be more encouraging for folks to rendezvous. I think a tailgate session at an event would be a good idea. For me, it is a long way but I would be willing (with enough notice) to make the trip in order to help get the chapter started. Summer functions are coming to an end soon so who knows if we can pull it off this year. I would like to think so. You have to remember that I am coming from the other side of the Sierras from most of you all. Sacramento would be the easiest for me to attend, but I'm just one member.
I would like to see things get started. Come up with something and put it out there. I haven't heard from Aaron lately. I hope he isn't too discouraged. His idea was to get it started at one location, then move to others to spread it out there for other members. Some would have to make a journey at times to start. I think, once started, the concept would grow. Who knows, but like you stated, in SO CAL, they get together and drink beer. I think it would be great. I'm thinking swap meets, truck shows, camping trips Reno/Tahoe Casino trips, Hot August Nights events etc....
Anyone else??? You folks wanna give it a try or not?
