I posted this elsewhere with nary a response. Perhaps some of you bright enthusiasts know:
Do newer Fords have active rocker panel ventilation? While working on a rocker panel I discovered a hose that runs from inside the rocker, up to the headliner and forward. Where it originates I have no clue, but it appears to be some form of ventilation device for inside of the rocker panel. The hose has strange white ribbing around it and at first glance it looks like a major wiring loom that would feed the door electricals. This is not an aftermarket device as it is obviously placed in its own run complete with OEM clips and securing tape. Can anyone explain the function of this hose? If it is active ventilation it seems like a splendid idea for corrosion control but I've never heard it promoted or listed as a feature.

It would help if we knew what you were working on. Otherwise the people down here have messed with a lot of bodywork.
If you have a moonroof etc could it perhaps be a drain for that?
Bingo! I think you're right on the money. Its my son's car, a '95 Contour and it does have a moonroof. I guess that makes sense, the moonroof would have to drain somehow. Thanks for clearing up the mystery.
